Katie Reading: Head of the Class as Salutatorian
Graduating senior maintained a 4.574 GPA at Lakewood High School.
In addition to earning perfect marks — and finishing with 4.574 GPA — Katie Reading kept herself busy in her four years at .
She played soccer; played the harp in the orchestra and participated in the Lakewood Project; and was a member of Model UN and student council.
She also was an active volunteer with H20 and her church. She won first place in the Physics category in the Northeastern Ohio Science and Engineering Fair.

“Katie is brilliant,” said Jeanne Hoopes, a guidance counselor at Lakewood High School. “She makes taking five (advance placement) classes at once look easy as she always appears calm and focused.”

“I was the lucky counselor this year who ended up with both Nos. 1 and 2,” Hoopes said of being the counselor for Reading and valedictorian Pizzo. “I will miss this group."
