The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) – known more commonly as “Obamacare” – was passed in March 2010 and affects almost everyone. The Supreme Court upheld the constitutionality of the law last month. We at the Universal Health Care Action Network (UHCAN) recognize that given the scope and controversy surrounding the new healthcare law, many Americans are confused by or unaware of the benefits and provisions in the ACA.
Following the Supreme Court’s decision, it is important now more than ever that the public understand what the Affordable Care Act offers women, families, seniors and businesses. In response to the need for accurate and understandable information on this historic reform of our healthcare system, UHCAN is partnering with Lakewood Ward 2 Councilman Tom Bullock to bring together doctors and community leaders to discuss the new health care law and to answer your questions about what it means for Lakewood residents.
We invite you to join us on Monday, August 20 from 6pm to 7:30pm at the Lakewood Public Library Auditorium to get the facts about the new health care law and to get your questions answered. This event is free and open to the public, and does not require an RSVP.
