Lakewood Challenges Entrepreneurs to Launch New Businesses

Do you have an idea for a new product or business that you think has what it takes to succeed in the marketplace?

If so, look no further than the City of Lakewood to launch your great new concept.Startup Lakewood – in conjunction with the City of Lakewood – is launching its 2nd annual Lakewood Ideation Challenge, which is an executive summary and pitch competition that challenges area entrepreneurs to take their new business concept to the next level. Participants have the chance to pitch their idea to judges consisting of area entrepreneurs in order to win additional resources to help launch their business.

“The Lakewood Ideation Challenge is all about encouraging soon-to-be entrepreneurs to take the next step on their business or product idea,” said Mike Belsito, Director of Ideation for Startup Lakewood. “For those that are serious about getting their business launched, we are here to help.”

Interested applicants may submit a brief executive summary which succinctly describes their business concept. Applications will be accepted through August 3rd and may be submitted via email to info@startuplakewood.com. Finalists will be announced in mid-August and will be asked to present Elevator Pitches to a panel of judges and a live audience at the Startup Lakewood event on August 28th at the University of Akron’s Lakewood campus.
