Pawsitively Lakewood: Skyler Plus, Events New and Old

An update on Skyler and Grog for Dogs. Also, a big exciting event on the west of Cleveland.

For our Skyler fans today we have an update on our favorite poodle. After leaving the hospital in spite of large veterinarian bills and life threatening infections Skyler was healthy and as sweet as ever. The her next big steps would be raising money and finding her a new home.

was born to take care of the first step.

The event itself was up against a number of last minute obstacles including providing food for the event, having a last minute band cancellation and even a storm bordering on a tornado levels stood in our way. was amazingly helpful every step of the way. Luckily, the pizza restaurants of Lakewood would rise up to provide us with 20 pizzas for the event. I would like to thank , , , , and of Lakewood for their donations. There were a number of gift baskets from people and organizations, like and the Cleveland Cobra football team. As the skies turned black and marble sized hail fell from the sky the number of guests were diminished. Luckily, with the added kindness of the patrons of Screaming Rooster who also donated to our event, we raised over $400.

Skyler would quickly find a new loving home as well. He was adopted a week later and his new adoptive family donated $700 for him. On behave of Pawsitivly Lakewood I wish Skyler the best of luck in the beginning of his real life.

If the funds can be put together to pay for a Lakewood city permit, All Dogs Heaven will be hosting their second Pet Palooza next month to help raise awareness for proper care of dogs, find some foster dogs some homes and raise money to pay for All Dogs Heaven's special needs pups. This week, however, we have some other fun for both us and our furry family members. In Crocker Park on Saturday and Sunday there will a major dog friendly event with organizations from all over Cleveland. It will also include games and activities for the dogs as well. If that wasn't enough, this “Crocker Bark” event will be sharing Crocker Park with the Fine Art Fair! But you want to meet a famous person as well? Don't worry I'll be there at the Pasitive Influence/All Dogs Heaven table near the entrance of Dicks on Saturday. I hope to see you all out there. Until then, I hope you and your furry family member enjoy the sunshine!

I also congratulate Cleveland on their new nuetral stance on dog breeds.
