Boatman wins big at McQuaid Jesuit Invitational

    The Lakewood High School Boys Cross Country Team traveled to Rochester, NY to compete in the largest scholastic Cross Country meet in the nation. With more than 7,000 runners in 25 different races, The McQuaid Jesuit Cross Country Invitational celebrated it 49th year as a premier meet. The Lakewood Rangers have been making this annual trip since 1987. 
     Senior Nick Boatman lead the Rangers. Nick took advantage of the dry fast racing conditions and broke away after the first mile to take a commanding lead and finish first place overall in Race #22, Boys Unseeded AAA-2(large school) Division in a time of 15:14. 
    Sophomore Jacob Gregory finished 24th in 16:33, followed by Junior Bely Stockman finishing 48th in 17:06, Seniors Aidan Howells, 51st in 17:11 and Nick LaCerva, 66th in 17:26 rounded out the scoring for the Rangers, securing a 7th place team finish in the strong 18 team field. Also competing were Senior Hayden Bish, 17:29 and Freshman Henry Bish, 17:35.
    The Rangers compete in their final regular season invitational on Sat. Oct. 5, The Stow Bulldog Cross Country Invitational, at Silver Springs Park, Stow.
