Lakewood Kicks Off the Holiday Season with Santa, Monster Trucks, and Fireworks

Santa, Buddy the Elf, The Grinch, Monster Trucks, Fireworks help record crowd get the holiday season started in Lakewood.

The holiday season officially started in Lakewood on December 1st and had Santa racing from Madison Ave. to Detroit Ave.

Santa's first appearance was at Mahall's Twenty Lanes where Santa was listening to children's Christmas wishes and Dominick Farinacci and Kevin Miletti collected toys for young victims of Hurricane Sandy. Farinacci & Tri-C Jazz Fest also performed versions of holiday classics. The Screamin' Demon monster truck arrived at Mahall's to pick up Dominick Farinacci & Tri-C Jazz Fest for their performance on the semi-truck trailer with the monster truck in the Light Up Lakewood Parade.

Light Up Lakewood attendance most likely topped last year's record. Unseasonably warm weather, a parade, entertainment, great food - and fireworks brought a HUGE crowd to the streets of Downtown Lakewood. Santa's busy day continued with a parade down Detroit Ave. and later meeting children at the Lakewood Library.
