What's Important About Health To You?

Randy is a Certified Health Coach with Take Shape for Life a Division of Medifast Inc. His coaching is free as long as you are on the Medifast program.

Five years ago I began to understand what was important about health to me it was the same time I became a Certified Health Coach for Medifast and Take Shape For Life. 

In 2007 my health had gotten to a point where I just didn't feel good, I was 50 years old, I was sluggish, my knees swelled when I ran, I was at my heaviest at just over 230lbs, 37+ inch waist, I wore my shirts out to hide the spare tire, I was red faced with plenty of puffiness and the interesting thing was at 6'1" it was all pretty well hidden.

I was in full denial!  

That was in 2007 and then I met Dr. Wayne Andersen and started on a very simple, common sense program, to lose the weight and get healthy and stay healthy.

I lost over 40lbs and have kept it off. 

Dr A asked me a question, "What is your vision of Health? What does full health look like to you?"  

No doctor had ever asked that question before. 

He explained that without a "Vision of Full Health" and a clear simple plan you will simply never achieve what you want. 

Looking at various studies at why people "succeed in losing weight, at least 50 lbs" and "succeed at keeping it off, for over 5 years" it is because they had a vision of what they wanted to accomplish with there health and then put themselves in the right circumstances and surroundings to achieve that vision. 

It actually has very little to due with losing the weight...losing weight and getting to a healthy weight simply becomes the starting point. 

Now in our coaching practice we help people understand "what's important about health to you."
