VIDEO: Lakewood Honors Its Veterans

Hundreds of people showed up braved howling winds and chilly temperatures for the Veterans Day event at on Friday.

The city's annual observance was a tribute to the men and women who served in the armed forces.

The got started with a presentation of colors followed by the singing of the National Anthem by The Four Vet Quartet.

This year’s keynote speaker was Capt. Stephen H. Torpey, currently assigned as the Chief of Response for the Ninth Coast Guard District in Cleveland.

Other speakers included Mayor Michael Summers, and Lakewood's Poet Lauraete Bill Knittel.

Other highlights of this year’s program included performances by the , the Four Vet Quartet and a 21-gun salute by the Joint Veterans Honor Guard.
