Talking Snow In July? City Officials Ready For the White Stuff
City council passed a measure changing the enforced snow parking ban from 2 to 4 inches of the white stuff.
With temperatures approaching 100 degrees, it might seem hard to think about snow.
But that’s exactly what had in mind when, last Monday, it approved a measure changing the requirement for a parking snow ban from 2 to 4 inches of the white stuff.
City officials determined that the current threshold of two inches in a 24-hour period was too restrictive on city residents — and noted that it was more realistic to enforce a parking ban when there is more than four inches.

“It might be ironic to be discussing this on the hottest day of July, but I think this is the most appropriate time,” said Ward 2 councilman Tom Bullock, noting that it’s not a bad idea to get ready.
Council is set for its annual summer break, and won't resume meetings again until September.
