Summers Set to Deliver State of the City Address on Wednesday

At the halfway mark of the year, Summers to present his first address to the city.

In his first year at the helm of the city, Lakewood Mayor Michael Summers will present his 2011 State of the City address at the at Beck Center for the Art at 7 p.m. June 8.

In his third year as the representative for Ward 3 on Lakewood City Council, Summers was appointed to the mayoral post in November when then-mayor Ed FtizGerald was elected to become Cuyahoga County's first county executive.

According to a press release, Summers' address will focus on the city’s successes and achievements over the past year — and the opportunities and challenges in the year 2011 and beyond.
