UPDATED: Power Surge Knocks Out Telephones at Lakewood City Hall

9-1-1 never went down. Service was restored a short time later.

After a power surge, the non-emergency phone numbers went down at Lakewood City Hall.

But the problem was quickly fixed.

9-1-1 was not affected. Those with emergencies were encouraged to call 9-1-1, according to a press release.

City officials had expected the non-emergency phones to be operational in the next hour or so.

It took less than 30 minutes to fix.
