McKinley Avenue Closing Thursday

As the city kicks off the road construction season, McKinley Avenue — between Hilliard and North Marginal roads — will close on Thursday.

But don’t fret; the street will reopen on Friday.

Construction will begin in the morning, and wrap up by the end of the day.

“This is only expected to be a one-day closure,” according to a news release.

Motorists are encouraged to find a different route.

Joe Beno, the city’s public works director, encourages motorists to take the Warren Road exit.

Earlier this year, Beno told Lakewood Patch that McKinley needed work.

“It’s bad,” he said.
