Lakewood Wants to Welcome New Residents

"Welcome to Lakewood" is Wednesday, April 24 at 7 p.m.

Lakewood is trying to make its new residents feel right at home.

That's why it's holding the 2nd annual Welcome to Lakewood event on Wednesday, April 24 from 7-9 p.m. at Garfield Middle School on Detroit Avenue.

The event is designed to welcome new residents to the community and to assist anyone looking for additional opportunities to make connections within the community. Residents can learn more about local civic organizations, services and ways to get involved in Lakewood.

New residents will be able to meet Mayor Mike Summers, Lakewood Schools Superintendent Jeff Patterson and Lakewood City Council members.  

Around 50 local organizations will be on hand to provide information about how to get more involved in the community, including treats from local bakeries.  All attendees will leave with a packet of information all about Lakewood.
