Lakewood Voters to Weigh Charter Change

Council OK's a measure that will be put before voters to change the city's charter, that officials say would align the filing deadline with the county board of elections.

Lakewood voters will consider a change to the city's charter that, if passed, would align the city's filing deadline for elections to municipal offices with the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections.

That's after OK'd the proposal at Monday night's meeting.

Mary Louise Madigan, council vice president, said the filing deadline would be 15 days earlier to conform with state law.
