Lakewood Seeking New Human Services Director

Dottie Buckon left the post Feb. 28, and the city is searching for a replacement.

Dottie Buckon left as the city’s director of human services after almost 10 years at the post.

Her last day was Feb. 28.

According to Summers, the position has been reshaped due to the city's shifting resources.

Here's what the city wants from prospective candidates who are eager to fill Buckon's shoes:

The City of Lakewood is seeking to fill a cabinet level position to oversee the Department of Human Services. The department provides services for children, adults and the elderly. The Director of Human Services is an at-will position which reports directly to the Mayor. The Director manages all department functions and Staff, including long and short range strategic planning, and budget development. Oversees, evaluates and develops sustainable programs and services in the City and provides staff management in the Human Services Department.
