Lakewood Paving Project Gets Under Way

In March, the city was able to add Granger and Delaware avenues to the project after the bids came in low.

Work has begun on this summer’s $1.2 million project to repave eight Lakewood streets. 

With this spring’s rainy weather, the schedule was pushed back, but last week work finally began.

Joe Beno, the city’s , said that the work will take several months to complete — but it’s all contingent on the weather.

The city originally had six streets included in the project.

Some streets will be paved entirely, while others will have only a portion repaved.

Larchmont Avenue will be paved from Madison to Detroit avenues; Morrison from Madison to Delaware avenues; Lakeland Avenue, from Detroit Avenue to Clifton Boulevard; and Winton Avenue will get some new pavement from Madison to Cordova avenues.

All of Overlook and Arlington roads will be paved. 

, when the bids came in $200,000 under the $1.2 million estimate, the city added Granger and Delaware avenues to the project.
