Lakewood Elections: Early Voting, Voting by Mail Begins

Registration for the November election closes in one week.

If you’d like to get an early start on Election Day this year, early voting at the Board of Elections and voting by mail opened Tuesday morning.

According to a press release from the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections, the board will begin mailing out absentee ballots to voters who have submitted an application on Tuesday. Voters can still request an application online. They can also request an application by calling the board at (216) 443-3298 or by visiting their local library. Applications must be returned to the board by noon on Nov. 3.

Registration for the Nov. 6 election closes on Oct. 9. To check to make sure your information is up-to-date, check the board’s website.

Early voting in person at the Board of Elections office at 2925 Euclid Avenue in Cleveland begins today and ends on Nov. 2. The full schedule is available on the board's website.

The board is encouraging people to vote before Nov. 6 in an attempt to lessen the lines on Election Day and to give people time to study the candidates and issues on the lengthy ballot, according to the press release.
