Is Your Street Getting Repaved?

We thought we'd share a detailed (and estimated) breakdown of this summer's street repaving project.

The city that 10 Lakewood streets are getting some fresh pavement.

We thought we’d go into some more details about the sections of the streets — as well as the projected cost.

Should the bids come in lower than expected, city officials would consider additional streets for repaving, said Lakewood Mayor Michael Summers.

“These streets are in tough shape,” he said. 

Here’s the breakdown of each street, and the expected cost:

  • Atkins Avenue: from Hilliard to Madison avenues. Estimated cost: $80,000. 
  • Brockley Avenue: from Detroit Avenue to Clifton Boulevard. Estimated cost: $205,000.
  • Hird Avenue: from Clifton Boulevard to Lake Avenue. Estimated cost: $41,000.
  • Lauderdale Avenue: from Madison to Detroit avenues. Estimated cost: $225,000.
  • McKinley Avenue: from Hilliard to Madison avenues. Estimated cost: $108,000. 
  • Northland Avenue: from Marginal to Hilliard avenues. Estimated cost: $100,000.
  • St. Charles Avenue: from Franklin to Detroit avenues. Estimated cost: $120,000.
  • Wyandotte Avenue: from Franklin to Detroit avenues. Estimated cost: $130,000. 
  • Lakeland Road: from Delaware to Madison avenues. Estimated cost: $210,000.
  • Waterbury Road: from Madison to Franklin avenues. Estimated cost: $125,000.

An ordinance was introduced at Monday’s meeting that would cap the cost of repaving projects at $1.4 million.
