Woman Caught Stealing Diapers, Charged With Theft

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lakewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Theft

A woman was charged with theft after she was caught stealing a package of diapers from the Walgreens on Detroit Avenue at around 11:15 p.m. Jan. 9.

Officers from the Rocky River Police Department stopped a stolen car in that city at around 3 a.m. Jan. 8, and the suspected car thieves admitted to stealing the car from the 18000 block of Clifton Boulevard.

Copper wires stolen

Police received a report that copper wiring was stolen from a vacant building in the 14000 block of Detroit Avenue at around 10:40 a.m. Jan. 8.

Sign malfunction

An RTA bus parked at Lakewood Park had its “Call 911” sign flashing at around 8:30 p.m. Jan. 8. Turns out, the sign had malfunctioned.

Suspicious woman

A woman was seen walking in the middle of Detroit Avenue, near W. 117th Street, wearing pajamas and a ski hat at around 6:30 p.m. Jan. 9. Officers were unable to locate the woman.

Drug paraphernalia

A man was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under a suspended license following a traffic stop in 2100 block of McKinley Avenue at around 10:10 p.m. Jan. 9.

Drug abuse

A man was cited for drug abuse following a traffic stop in the 17100 block of Hilliard Road at around 12:20 a.m. Jan. 10.

No injuries in two-car crash

There were no reported injuries in a two-car crash in the 2300 block of Niagara Drive at around 8:30 a.m. Jan. 10.
