Two Arrested for Rash of Car Break-Ins; Police Looking for Third Suspect

Dozens of cases have been closed. Anyone with information about the location of the third suspect is asked to call the Lakewood Police at 216-521-6773.

The Lakewood police have arrested two suspected of breaking into dozens of vehicles in the cover of night in the city during the past week.

Early Monday morning, officers caught up with two men suspected of breaking into cars on Manor Park Avenue.

Police chief Timothy Malley said that the investigation “has resulted in the clearance of 23 recent thefts from vehicles.”

Two men and one juvenile — all of 11849 Clifton Boulevard — are suspected in the thefts.

Police arrested the 17-year and Anthony Watson, 18, and charge them with theft.

The Lakewood Police Department is asking for the public’s help catching the third suspect, Daron Hodges, 18, also of 11849 Clifton Boulevard.

If that address sounds familiar, it’s the location of Hidden Village, housing for a youth re-entry program, engaged in a lawsuit with the city of Lakewood.

Anyone with information about the location of Hodges is asked to call the Lakewood Police at 216-521-6773. 

“The investigation is continuing with the possibility of further charges on other suspects,” added Malley.
