Three Arrested for Trying to Rob Boy of Marijuana

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lakewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Three arrested following robbery in progress

Two men were arrested and charged with robbery, after they tried to rob a 17-year-old Lakewood boy of his marijuana in the municipal parking lot at 1300 Warren Road at around 1:40 p.m. Feb. 20.

Police chief Timothy Malley said the robbery was set up as a drug deal.

When the would-be drug buyers showed up, they tried to rob the boy at gunpoint following a fistfight in the car. “He refused to give up the drugs,” Malley said.

The recovered gun turned out to be a BB gun.

The third suspect, a 17-year-old Lakewood boy, took off on foot and was later charged with robbery.

The victim, who hasn’t yet been charged, also took off on foot — with one of the would-be robber's car keys. “(The robbery) wasn’t very well conceived, it wasn’t very well executed and it resulted in them getting arrested,” Malley said.

"The victim, who hasn’t yet been charged ...." So I'm thinking that LPD is tyring to figure out if geting beat up was punishment enough for possessing the pot? I dunno!

Peter, the even bigger story here in this police blotter is that officers were called about a case of a missing sippy cup.

Franlky, Colin, (thanks for using your full/real name, btw) ... I never got that far! Hard to read through the tears streaming down my face from the first story!
