Suspicious Man ‘Digging in the Front Yard’ Looking for Coins

Suspicious man: Police received a report of a suspicious man “digging in the front yard” of a home in the 17400 block of Clifton Boulevard at around 11 a.m. July 9. He told police that he had gotten permission from the resident. His story checked out.

Theft: A kayak and two bikes were reported stolen from a home in the 900 block of Beach Avenue at around 11 a.m. July 9.

Lovers’ quarrel: Police responded to a loud argument between a man and woman in the 1600 block of Winchester Avenue at around 12:05 a.m. July 9. Officers asked the couple to keep it down. Police responded an hour later, because they were still fighting, and the woman decided to leave for the night.

Drug charges: A man was charged with possession of hypodermic needles and drug paraphernalia after he reportedly took too much heroin in the 13700 block of Madison Avenue at around 1:30 a.m. July 9. He was taken to Lakewood Hospital.

False alarm: A woman was charged with making a false alarm after she called 911 from a home in the 1400 block of Orchard Grove Avenue at around 4:30 p.m. July 9, and told them that her brother had a gun.

Bad friend: A man in the 12000 block of Lake Avenue loaned his car to another man on July 8, and it still hadn’t been returned as of noon July 10.

Timber! A man reported that a tree fell on his truck in the 1200 block of Cranford Avenue at around 5 p.m. July 10.
