UPDATE: Truck Driver Dies After Crash on I-90

Crash near McKinley exit snarls traffic is backed up in both directions. Lakewood police on the scene.

A 61-year-old man is dead after the dump truck he was driving spun out and crashed into the concrete median on Interstate 90 in Lakewood just before noon on Wednesday.

According to police, the crash only involved the dump truck, which was not carrying any cargo.  The truck was traveling westbound on I-90 near the McKinley Avenue exit, when one of its tires blew out.

The driver, whose name is not being released, spun out before crashing through the concrete barrier, sending debris across the highway.

There were no other vehicles reported in the crash, and no one else was injured.

Other details — such as speed — are not being released pending an investigation.

Traffic was tied up in both directions for hours, as potions of I-90 were closed in both directions.
