Running from Police Nets Obstruction Charge

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lakewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Obstruction of official business

A man was arrested and charged with obstructing official business after he and another man ran from police in the 11800 block of Madison Avenue at around 1 a.m. Aug. 13. The men ditched their bicycles, and after a lengthy foot chase — that included jumping fences and running through backyards — police caught up with one of them in the 1500 block of Newman Avenue. The other man got away.

Three men were warned about trespassing after they jumped the fence at the to take a dip in the pool at around 9 p.m. Aug. 13.

Burglary

A woman who lives in the 11999 block of Franklin Boulevard told police that someone burglarized her home while she was gone during the afternoon of Aug. 11. She returned home to find that her side window had been opened, and her laptop computer and Xbox were missing from inside the home. 

Drug abuse

A man was cited with a misdemeanor drug charge following a traffic stop near the on W. 117th Street at around 3 a.m. Aug. 14.

A resident in the 1300 block of Westlake Avenue reported that the home had been “egged” on Aug. 14. The resident in a home in the 1500 block of Spring Garden Avenue reported a similar incident.
