Roof Contractor Swindles $13,500 from Resident

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lakewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

New roof scam?

A man in the 15000 block of Edgewater Drive told police Oct. 15 that he paid $13,500 for a new roof and the company has not done the work. Also, he said that no one with the company is returning his phone calls. Police are investigating.

Breaking and entering

A man told police that someone broke into his home in the 1600 block of Olivewood Avenue on Oct. 11.

Drug abuse

Following a traffic stop at the intersection of Detroit Avenue and W. 117th Street, a man was cited for drug abuse at around 9:30 p.m. Oct. 11.

Man exposing himself to motorists

Police received a report of a man driving a silver PT Cruiser who was exposing himself to motorists in the 14500 block of Detroit Avenue at around 1 a.m. Oct. 12. Officers were unable to catch up to the man.

Assault

A man told police that he was assaulted on Cove Avenue at around 3:30 a.m. Oct. 12. He was taken to Lakewood Hospital.

Shoplifting leads to felony warrant arrest

A woman was arrested for shoplifting at the CVS Pharmacy on Clifton Boulevard at around 4:30 p.m. Oct. 12. Officers learned that she had a warrant for her arrest for a robbery.

Urinating on bathroom floor

Employees at the McDonald’s on W. 117th Street called police about a man who was urinating on the bathroom floor and exposing himself to customers at around 10:45 p.m. Oct. 12. The man, who was elderly, agreed to clean up the mess and the “staff was happy with that,” according to the report. 

Counterfeit bill

Someone paid with a counterfeit $10 bill at Nature’s Bin at around 11:30 a.m. Oct. 13.

Drug abuse

A man was charged with drug abuse following a traffic stop near the intersection of Newman and Detroit avenues at around 11 p.m. Oct. 13.
