Police on the Lookout for Madison Avenue Robbers

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lakewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Lakewood put on notice after Cleveland robbery

Lakewood police received notice from the Cleveland Police Department about a woman who was robbed in the 11500 block of Madison Avenue at around 1 a.m. March 27. Officers were tipped that the men — both of them possibly carrying guns — were spotted at Madison and Newman avenues a short time later. This is the second report of a robbery in the past few days. A woman in the 12500 block of Madison Avenue told police that a man tried to rob her as she walked home Sunday night. It’s not clear whether the two incidents are related. 

Shoplifting

A man was arrested and charged with petty theft after he was caught stealing a pair of reading glasses from the Walgreens on Detroit Avenue at around 10:30 a.m. March 25. His bicycle was impounded.

Pit bull complaint

Police received a report of a pit bull in the 1600 block of Onondaga Avenue at around 11:30 a.m. March 25. Pit bulls are illegal in Lakewood. The man told police that he would remove the dog from the city by the end of the week.

Assault

A woman in the 1400 block of Newman Avenue told police that she was assaulted during the evening of March 26.

Breaking and entering

A man checked on his vacant property in the 1300 block of Fry Avenue and found a window busted out and the side door open at around 3:30 p.m. March 27.

Burglary

A woman returned to her home in the 2100 block of McKinley Avenue and found her sliding glass door open and jewelry missing at around 3:30 p.m. March 27.
