Police Looking For Armed Robbery Suspect

Detectives caught a robbery suspect on a couple of surveillance cameras. Now, they need some help from the public identifying him.

Lakewood Police are on the trail of a man they suspect of robbing a woman at gunpoint as she walked to work on Ramona Avenue during the afternoon of Jan. 11.

Police caught a suspect — described as a white man, between 25 and 30 years old, 5-feet, 7-inches tall, with a medium build — on a couple of surveillance cameras.

Now, they need some help from the public identifying him.

The first photo of the suspect was taken moments after the robbery when he tried to withdraw the woman’s money from her bank account at PNC Bank ATM on Detroit Avenue.

The second photo shows a man at the counter of a store buying items. Police did not disclose whether the man was attempted to use the woman’s credit cards.

The woman, who works on Detroit Avenue but parks her car on Ramona Avenue, told police that as she approached Marlowe Avenue, a man pulled out a gun and demanded her purse.

Still holding her car keys, she walked back to her car and drove to Lakewood Police Headquarters to make a report, according to police.
