Police: Lakewood Man Charged After Stabbing Dog to Death

Gerald Miller, of Lakewood, was charged March 13 after he allegedly stabbed a dog to death in Amherst.
Miller said he and his daughter were walking their dog down Red Tailed Lane on March 10 when a German shepherd mix ran toward the pair in an aggressive manner, according to cleveland.com.
Miller told Amherst police he stabbed the dog in the back with a folding knife to prevent it from attacking his daughter's dog, but witnesses disagreed with Miller's version of the story.

Robert Danicki, the owner of the German shepherd, and another witness reported the dogs knew each other and said the animal wasn't a danger to anyone.
