Police Chase Ends When Suspect Crashes Into Home on Clifton

What began as domestic altercation led to a police chase.

What started as a domestic altercation led to a police chase and ultimately ended when the suspect crashed his Cutlass into a Cleveland home, Lakewood Police Capt. Edward Hassing said.

A woman called Lakewood Police, saying the suspect had tried to hit her and another woman.

Police soon spotted the suspect's silver Oldsmobile Cutlass near the intersection of Clifton and Nicholson. An officer observed as the Cutlass nearly hit several parked cars, Hassing said.

Officers signalled for the man to pull over; but, instead of complying, the man stopped for a second but then sped away down Clifton, Hassing said.

Police followed and the chase ended when the suspect went off the road and crashed into the front porch of a home in the 9000 block of Clifton Boulevard in Cleveland.

No charges have been filed against the man yet but they are pending.
