Police Blotter: Truck Crashes Into School Bus, Dog Bite and an Unwelcome Guest

This week in police news.

A semi-trailer struck a parked St. Edward High School bus as the truck was turning westbound onto Detroit Avenue at around 2:30 p.m. May 6. No injuries were reported.

Theft

Police received a call that a man was checking car door handles on Madison Avenue near Parkwood Road at around 4:30 a.m. April 30. When officers showed up, the man took off on foot. After a brief chase, the man was arrested and charged with felony theft.

Menacing 

A man working on a pole in the 11800 block of Clifton Boulevard told police that he saw a man running east bound on the railroad tracks at around 3:30 p.m. on May 1. When officers arrived the found that the man had broken glass at a nearby apartment building. He was arrested and charged with menacing.

Unwelcome guest

A resident of the Oak Tree Manor apartments told police May 1 that a man climbed into her apartment through a window. When officers arrived that evening, they learned that the suspect was the woman’s neighbor. He told police that he was locked out of his apartment, and thought it would be OK to gain entrance to the building through her apartment.

Burglary

A resident in the 2100 block of Bunts Avenue told police May 3 that the front door of the home was forced open and items were missing from the home.

Civil matter

A woman in the 200 block told police that her landlord broke into her house May 4 and threw cats out. Police told her it was a civil matter.

Dog bite

A man told police that he and his dog were bitten by a dog as they were walking on Detroit Avenue, near Hall Avenue at around 10 p.m. May 7. The man said he was going to call the animal warden.
