Police Blotter: Reindeer Theft; Burglaries; and More Graffiti

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lakewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Reindeer theft

A resident in the 14700 block of Athens Avenue told police that a reindeer lawn ornament was stolen at around 9:45 a.m. Dec. 5. 

Burglary

A woman in the 2000 block of Carabel Avenue told police that someone broke into her home through a back window and stole several games and CDs at around 11:45 a.m. Dec. 1. 

Vandals strike again

Graffiti was reported at the rear of the on Detroit Avenue at around 10:30 a.m. Dec. 2. Later that morning, graffiti was reported on the building that formerly housed Maria’s Roman Room on Detroit Avenue. A fence and building in the 11900 block of Madison Avenue reported vandalized with spray-paint at around 11:00 a.m. 

Another burglary

A resident returned home in the 13000 block of Lake Avenue to find that the home had been burglarized at around 1 p.m. Dec. 2.

Shoplifting

A man was arrested and charged with shoplifting from the on Detroit Avenue at around 10:30 a.m. Nov. 29. 

Criminal damaging

The back door of  in the 18000 block of Detroit was reported kicked in at around 7:30 a.m. Dec. 2.

Secret police force

A resident in the 12500 block of Edgewater Drive told police that a secret police force was following her at around noon Nov. 30 followed her. She wanted police aware in case anything else happens. 

Copper pipe thieves nabbed

Two men were arrested and charged with burglary after stealing copper, an air conditioner and refrigerator from a vacant home in the 1100 block of Gladys Avenue at around 1:30 p.m. Dec. 2.

Delivery vehicle towed

Police received a call that a pizza delivery vehicle was towed while making a delivery to the at 18645 Detroit Ave. at around 11 p.m. Dec. 2. Turns out that the vehicle was towed because it was parked on private property.

Good Samaritan

A man found a wallet in the 14700 block of Detroit Avenue at around 6 a.m. Dec. 3. He turned it into police, who returned the wallet to its owner in the 1500 block of Chesterland Avenue.
