Police Blotter: Rape, Domestic Violence and a Man Shot in the Leg Drives Home

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lakewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Rape

A woman told police May 26 that she was raped at a bar in the 13600 block of Madison Avenue the night before. Police are investigating.

Domestic violence

A woman came to the front counter of the police department at 11 a.m. May 24, and told officers that her husband hit her in the head with a hammer. She filed a report, and police are investigating.

Stolen car recovered

A Cleveland woman told police May 24 that by using her vehicle’s GPS tracking system, she had located her stolen vehicle at the on Lake Avenue. The vehicle was towed away and returned to the woman.

Gunshot victim

A man in the 2000 block of Halstead Avenue told police that he was shot in the leg in Cleveland during the evening of May 24. He told police that he was shot near the intersection of 85th Street and Detroit Avenue, but he decided to drive home before calling for help.

Breaking and entering

The at the intersection of 117th Street and Clifton Blvd. was broken into early in the morning of May 29. Police responded to a burglar alarm at the gas station, and learned from witnesses that two men broke the glass of the store, before getting away on foot. It’s unknown whether the men made off with any merchandise.
