Police Blotter: Phone Scam; Refrigerator Stolen; and Man Arrested After Drug Deal Reported
The following arrest information was supplied by the Lakewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Suspicious phone call
A woman in the 1100 block of Marlowe Avenue received a phone call from someone claiming to be a representative from Key Bank at around noon Aug. 18. That's not the strange part. The person on the phone instructed the woman to withdraw $4,800 from the bank, then go to the and give it to a man who would be waiting for her. The man on the phone also told the woman she was being watched. She called the police.
A theft that was truly uncool

A resident in the told police that someone stole a refrigerator from the home sometime on Aug. 18.
Drug deal reported; man arrested

A man told police that he saw a drug deal go down in the parking lot of the at 11900 Detroit Avenue at around 4 p.m. Aug. 20. Turns out the man might have been on to something. Police arrested and charged a man for felony drug possession, resisting arrest and obstructing official business.
Drifting away
The US Coast Guard was called after four teenagers drifted a quarter-mile away from the Lake Erie shore at around 3 p.m. Aug. 18. The boys returned to the shore safe and sound.
Disorderly conduct
A woman in the 2100 block of Robin Avenue told police that her boyfriend was drunk and “tearing up the apartment” at 8:30 p.m. Aug. 19. The man was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
