Police Blotter: Man Follows Suspected Car Thieves, Boy Arrested
The following arrest information was supplied by the Lakewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
Boy charged with attempted grand theft
A boy was charged with attempted grand theft of a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property after a man followed his vehicle after it was stolen in Cleveland in the early morning of June 17.
The man followed his van to the , where he called police. The group in the vehicle disbanded, but police caught up with one of the suspects near the intersection of Alameda and Franklin avenues, where he was taken into custody.

Kids smoking something strange in the restroom
Police were notified of four people smoking in the restroom at at 7 p.m. June 16. The caller said the group — one female and three males — left behind a bag containing an unknown substance. Officers determined that the bag contained incense.

Criminal damaging
Police received a call about a group of children throwing eggs and writing on the side of a building in the 1400 block of Winchester Avenue on June 16. The children — all between the ages of seven and 10 — were advised by police. The caller said he would clean up the mess, which was determined to be impermanent.
BB shot through window of business
Employees at told police that someone shot a bb through the window of the Detroit Avenue business on June 17.
Man arrested for ‘going crazy’
A woman called police to report that a man was “going crazy” in the parking lot of on Detroit Avenue at around 8 p.m. June 17. When police arrived, it turns out the caller was onto something. The man was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.
Property dispute
A man in the 1200 block of Elbur Avenue told police June 18 that his neighbor was digging up his lilac tree. Officers learned that the issue was an ongoing civil dispute.
