Police Blotter: Gunshots Turn Out to be Fireworks

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lakewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Gunshots turn out to be fireworks

Residents in the 1500 block of Northland Avneue reported hearing gunshots in the area at around 7 p.m. Jan. 19. One resident said the noise could have been an electrical problem — perhaps a transformer.

A couple hours later, residents in the 1600 block of Winchester Avenue also reported gunshots in the neighborhood. When police arrived, they got a tip that a man was setting off fireworks.

Officers found the suspect, and cited him for setting off fireworks.

Man faces felony drug charges after traffic stop

A man was charged with felony drug trafficking, drug abuse and driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop near the intersection of Carbon Road and W. 117th Street at around 3 a.m. Jan. 20.

Hit-skip

A vehicle was “hit-skipped” by another car while parked at at around 6 p.m. Jan. 19.

Indecent exposure

Police received a call about a man exposing himself to passing motorists in the 12900 block of Detroit Avenue at around 2 p.m. Jan. 20. Police weren’t able to locate the man.

On PCP, and “out of control”

Police responded to a call in the 1600 block of Robinwood Avenue for a report of a woman who was “on PCP and out of control” at around 12:30 a.m. Jan. 21. The woman was taken to .

Charges for man following bar fight

A man was charged with assault, aggravated menacing, aggravated trespassing, criminal damaging and disorderly conduct following a fight at the in the 12000 block of Madison Avenue at around 2:30 a.m. Jan. 21. A woman was charged with disorderly conduct.
