Police Blotter: Gunfire; Robbery; and Resisting Arrest

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lakewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Gunfire in an apartment

A resident in the  told police that while she was cleaning her gun, at around 9 p.m. Aug. 1, the firearm accidentally discharged sending the bullet into a wall in the hallway. No injuries were reported. The woman is registered to carry a concealed weapon.

Robbery

A robbery was reported near the intersection of Clifton Boulevard and Cove Avenue at around 12:45 a.m. July 29. The two suspects involved were spotted walking north on Cove Avenue. Officers caught up with the men around the corner, and they were both charged with robbery — and one of them was also charged with possession of criminal tools. 

Resisting arrest

A man was arrested and charged with resisting arrest and drug abuse, following a traffic stop at Detroit and Lakeland avenues at around 12:30 a.m. August 2. After the traffic stop, the man jumped out of his vehicle and ran from police. Officers caught up with — and arrested — him a short time later at .

Criminal damaging

A man was spotted slashing the tires of a vehicle in the parking lot of Bonnie and Clyde’s on Madison Avenue at around 2 a.m. July 29.

Burglary

A man was charged with burglary in the 12200 block of Clifton Boulevard after he broke down the door of his girlfriend and took her car keys at around 11 p.m. July 31.

Drug charges

A man was charged with drug abuse following a traffic stop near the intersection of Spring Garden and Madison avenues at around 5:30 a.m. July 30.
