Police Blotter: Car Versus Deer, Bat in the House and a Wanted Man Taken Into Custody

Jaywalking
Three men were cited for jaywalking near the intersection of W. 117th Street and Clifton Blvd. at 3 a.m. June 11. One of them was later charged with disorderly conduct.
Operating a vehicle while intoxicated

A woman was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated after a traffic stop at 12:45 a.m. June 10 in the 1400 block of Rockway Avenue.
Bike theft

A bike was reported stolen from a garage in the 1200 block of Hall Avenue at 12:30 p.m. June 11.
No driving on the sidewalk
A resident in the 1400 block of Westwood Avenue told police June 11 that a driver of a car drove onto on the sidewalk to avoid construction. Police caught up with the driver, who was cited for driving on the sidewalk.
Crack on the sidewalk
A man told police that, as he walked with his six-year-old son, he found a small amount of crack cocaine on the sidewalk in the 2100 block Robin Avenue. The man flushed it down the toilet, but wanted to alert police.
Car versus deer
A car hit a deer in the 12500 block of Clifton Blvd. at around 9:30 p.m. June 11. The driver, who reported the crash, was not injured. It’s not known what happened to the deer.
Wanted man taken into custody
A man wanted on felony charges of carrying a concealed weapons and possession of criminal tools was taken into custody at 6 a.m. June 13 after officers spotted him riding a bicycle in front of the police station on Detroit Avenue. Police caught up with the man at the intersection of Franklin Blvd. and Cohassett Avenue.
Grand theft auto
A car was reported stolen June 13 from the parking lot of the Colonial Club Apartments on Coutant Avenue sometime during the night.
Domestic violence
A man was arrested and charged with domestic violence and carrying a concealed weapon after police received a call that a man and woman were fighting in the 1300 block of Thoreau Avenue at around 3 p.m. June 13.
Bat in the house
A resident in the 1200 block of Overlook Drive called police at 11:30 p.m. June 13 for assistance getting a bat out of the house. The resident locked the bat in a room in the home, and officers removed the bat “and advised it not to return.”
