Police Blotter: Bank Robbery Suspects Caught; and Two Armed Robberies

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lakewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Bank robbery

Lakewood police assisted the Cleveland, Rocky River and Bay Village police departments in a high-speed chase on Interstate 90 at around 3 p.m. Sept. 21. The two Cleveland men are suspected of robbing the in Rocky River at gunpoint just moments before.

The men ended the chase when they got out of the car near Warren Road and fled south on foot. However, officers caught up with them and they were taken into custody. At least one man escaped capture.

Burglary

A home in the 1200 block of West Clifton Boulevard was reportedly burglarized at around 2:30 a.m. Sept. 18. The downstairs door was kicked and in and items were reported missing.

Robbery

Police responded to a robbery at gunpoint outside of the on Clifton Boulevard at around 4 p.m. Sept. Sept. 19. The suspect, who fled west on foot, got away.

Another Robbery

A man was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery after he held a gun to a Lakewood resident and took his wallet, cell phone and keys in the 1600 block of Victoria Avenue around 2 a.m. Sept. 20. The victim flagged down the police at around Warren Road and Detroit Avenue. Officers caught up with the suspect and took him into custody.

Man arrested after rummaging through garbage

Police received a call at around 2:30 a.m. Sept. 19 that a man and a woman were throwing garbage around on a tree lawn in the 2300 block of Northland Avenue. Officers arrested the man and charged him with disorderly conduct and rummaging through garbage.

Dog hit by car, man bitten

A man was bitten by a dog after he ran into the street to help the animal after it had been hit by car in the 1400 block of Roycroft Avenue at around 7 a.m. Sept. 19. The man was taken to Lakewood Hospital and received four stitches in his index finger. The dog’s condition was not reported.

Drug trafficking

A man was arrested and charged with the drug trafficking and possession of criminal tools following a traffic stop at the intersection of Madison and Morrison avenues at around 11 p.m. Sept. 19.
