Police Blotter: Assault With a Guitar; Dog Bite; and Drugs Impounded

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lakewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Burglary

A man told police July 18 that sometime during the night, someone broke into his home in the 1300 block of Lakewood Avenue and stole $60 in coins.

A man, who was reported to be “highly intoxicated,” was arrested at the children’s pool at at around 3:30 p.m. July 18. He had two outstanding warrants for his arrest out of other police departments.

That’s bad music

Police received a call that two people were hitting each other with a guitar in the 12000 block of Lake Avenue at around 9 p.m. July 18. A man and a woman were each charged with public intoxication.

Drunken driving arrest, water under the bridge

A woman was charged with OVI after she drove around barricades on W. 117th Street near Madison Avenue at 3:30 a.m. July 19. Her vehicle became submerged in water underneath the bridge near Berea Road — which is what the barricades were intended to prevent.

Theft, obstructing justice

A man was arrested and charged with theft after he stole and iron from on Detroit Avenue at around 6:15 p.m. July 19. The man ran out of the store, and east on Clifton Boulevard. When police caught up with him they also charged him with obstructing justice. 

Dog bite

A dog bite was reported in the 1600 block of Lauderdale Avenue at around 11 a.m. July 20. No injuries were reported. The owners of the dog, on Alameda Avenue, were notified by the dog warden.

Drugs impounded

A man was spotted running through yards near Wyandotte Avenue at around 3:30 a.m. July 22. He was seen dropping a bag of drugs in the 1500 block of Wyandotte. Police recovered the drugs, but were unable to find the man.
