Pesky Raccoon Keeps Woman From Her Car

Raccoon under the car: A woman told police that a raccoon was under her car, and “wouldn’t let her get into her vehicle” in the 2200 block of Warren Road at around 7:30 p.m. Oct. 8. By the time officers arrived moments later, the raccoon was gone.

Good Samaritan: A wallet, containing credit cards and cash, was found in the 14500 block of Madison Avenue on Oct. 7 and turned into police.

False alarm: A man in an apartment in the 12900 block of Lake Avenue told police there was a bomb in the parking lot. Turns out, he made up the story.

Attempted burglary: Someone tried to break into a home in the 1500 block of Orchard Grove Avenue on Oct. 7.

Drunken driving: A “highly intoxicated” man pushed a woman down in the 17700 block of Detroit Avenue before driving away “at a high rate of speed” at around 10:30 p.m. Oct. 7. Police stopped the man in the car and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Sexual assault: Police received a report of sexual assault in the 1500 block of Winchester Avenue on Oct. 8. Police are investigating.
