More Car Break-Ins Reported on the East End

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lakewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Car-breakins

Several car break-ins were reported on the city’s east side on Jan. 12. The circumstances were similar: residents reported that their unlocked vehicle was entered, and in some cases, items were taken, such as a GPS device. Among the streets with incidents were in the 1600 block of Cohassett Avenue as well as Hird Avenue; there were two incidents reported in the 1400 block of Ridgewood Avenue, and another in the 1500 block of Alameda Avenue.

There have been similar incidents reported in the past, as recently as last month.

Ex-boyfriend with a gun

A woman told police that her ex-boyfriend followed her to Dianna’s Deli at around 2:15 a.m. Jan. 11. She told officers she was concerned because he owns a gun.

Boy robbed

A man told police that his son was robbed on his way home from school in the 13700 block of Detroit Avenue at around 3:30 p.m. Jan. 11. The suspect stole the boy’s iPod and headphones.

TV stolen

A man in the 12000 block of Lake Avenue told police that his TV was stolen from the home at around 4:40 p.m. Jan. 11.

Stolen bike

A bicycle was reported stolen from an open garage in the 15000 block of Lake Avenue at around 10 a.m. Jan. 12.

Assault

A woman told police that she heard a man “yelling for help” in the 1200 block of Fry Avenue at around 8 p.m. Jan. 12, as he was being beaten by another man. The man who was attacking the other man was charged with felonious assault.
