Man Tries to Set His Girlfriend on Fire

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lakewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

'Heated' argument

A woman told police that her boyfriend threw lighter fluid on her and said he was going to set her on fire in the 1500 block of Bunts Road at around 6:30 p.m. Aug. 19. The man was charged with aggravated menacing.

Police impounded a gun after a man found it next to his house in the 1300 block of Fry Avenue at around 3:30 p.m. Aug. 19.

A man was arrested and charged with public indecency after he was caught standing in the window of his apartment masturbating in the 14900 block of Lake Avenue at around 8 p.m. Aug. 19. 

Resisting arrest

A man was charged with resisting arrest after officers responded to a fight in the 1300 block of Bonnieview Avenue at around 3 a.m. Aug. 20. 

Drunken driving

A woman was charged with drunken driving following a two-car crash in the 17600 block of Detroit Avenue at around 3:45 a.m. Aug. 20. No injuries were reported, however both cars were towed.

Newspapers on fire

A woman “lit a bunch of newspapers on fire” in the kitchen, then locked herself in the bathroom of her home in the 13330 block of Madison Avenue at around 6:45 p.m. Aug. 20. She was taken to .

Felony drug possession

A man was charged with dangerous drugs following a traffic stop in the 15600 block of Madison Avenue at around 1:20 p.m. Aug. 21.

Theft, trespassing

A man was charged with theft and trespassing following a brief foot chase after he was caught breaking into cars near the intersection of Edwards Avenue and Clifton Boulevard at around 2:40 a.m. Aug. 21.
