Man Impersonates Police Officer, Cons Woman

Impersonating police officer: A woman in the Westerly Apartments told police Aug. 22 that a man called her and said he was a Lakewood police officer and asked for a donation. She gave him her credit card number, however it was a scam. Police are investigating.

Bikes stolen: Two bikes were reported stolen from a garage in the 1500 Lakewood Avenue at around 2 p.m. Aug. 21.

Woman assaulted by daughter: A woman in the 2100 block of Dowd Avenue told police that her daughter hit her in the face at around 1:45 a.m. Aug. 22.

Against medical advice: A man bolted from Lakewood Hospital with an IV still in his arm at around 7 p.m. Aug. 22. He later returned.

A cold theft: An air conditioning unit was reported stolen from a home in the 12400 block of Madison Avenue on Aug. 22.

Creeping: Police received a report that a man, driving a dark colored car, tried to lure children into his vehicle with the promise of candy near Grant Elementary School at around 8 p.m. Aug. 22. Police are investigating.

Counterfeit money: An employee at Discount Drug Mart at 13123 Detroit Avenue told police there was a fake $5 bill in the till on Aug. 23.

Man falls out of bucket lift: A man working in the 1100 block of Forest Road was injured when he fell out of the lift on a bucket truck at around 11 a.m. Aug. 26.

Grand theft: A car parked in the 14200 block of Madison Avenue was reported stolen at around noon Aug. 26.
