Man Flips His Car, Charged With Drunken Driving

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lakewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Drunken driving

A man faces several charges after a vehicle he was driving struck a parked car in the 2000 block of Waterbury Avenue and “rolled three times,” before coming to a stop at around 3 a.m. Nov. 9. The man and woman inside the vehicle fled the scene. However, officers caught up with them nearby and charged the man with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, obstructing official business, failure to comply and driving under suspension. They both refused to be taken to Lakewood Hospital for minor injuries they suffered during the crash.

A resident in the 1300 block of Clarence Avenue was, admittedly, banging on his ceiling to annoy the tenant above him at around noon Nov. 9.

Cited for riding dirt-bike

A man was cited for riding a dirt-bike on the street near Lakewood Heights Boulevard and Brown Road at around 12:05 a.m. Nov. 10.

Menacing

A man was charged with menacing after an incident involving two women staying at the Days Inn to go with him at around 2 a.m. Nov. 10. According to the report, he tried to convince the women to leave with him, and when hey refused, he blocked them in with his truck. Police caught up with him at Dianna’s Deli a couple blocks away.

Playing football at 3 a.m.

A group of people was playing football in the middle of Detroit Avenue, near Riverside Drive, at around 2:45 a.m. When neighbors asked them to go inside, they did. No one was charged.
