Man Caught Stealing ‘Lube Tube’ From Quaker Steak

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lakewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

“Lube Tube” stolen

A man stole a “Lube Tube” — a pitcher of beer worth about $200 — from the on Detroit Avenue at around 9 p.m. Sept. 3. He also skipped out on his tab. Police caught up with the man at on W. 117th Street a short time later. The man returned the pitcher and paid his tab — and was told never to return to the restaurant.

A man injured himself on a manhole cover in the 1400 block of Waterbury Avenue at around 10:30 p.m. Sept. 3.

Popping a tire

A man was spotted popping a tire on a minivan in the 16100 block of Detroit Avenue at around 2 a.m. Sept. 2. Police caught up with him and charged him with criminal damaging. 

Criminal damaging

A man told police that someone wrote “all over” his vehicle in the 11900 block of Edgewater Drive at around 2:20 p.m. Sept. 2. 

Attempt to buy drugs

A woman told police that another woman came to the door of her Lark Avenue home looking to buy drugs at around 9:45 p.m. Sept. 2. The resident told the woman she had the wrong house. After the second time the woman knocked, the resident called the police. Officers were unable to catch up to the woman.

Man with a gun?

A man told police that he “thinks he saw” a man carrying a gun while walking north on Ridgewood Avenue at around 8 p.m. Sept. 3. Officers could not locate the man in question.
