Man Arrested for 'Jumping' a 10-Year-Old, Then Taking His Bike

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lakewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Theft

Cleveland police arrested a man and charged him with theft after he “jumped” a 10-year-old boy and took his bicycle near the RTA Rapid Station at around 3 p.m. July 12. Lakewood officers caught up with the man near the intersection of Ridgewood and Madison avenues a few minutes later and turned him over to the Cleveland police.

Shot by a pellet gun

A woman told police that she was shot by a pellet gun as she was walking on Fry Avenue near the railroad tracks at around 4:40 p.m. July 9. She refused medical attention.

Theft

A man was charged with theft after he stuffed items from into his duffle bag and left the store without paying for them at around 9 a.m. July 9.

False information

A man was charged with giving police officers false information following a traffic stop at the intersection of Beach and Detroit avenues at around 1 a.m. July 10.

Grand theft

A vehicle was reported stolen from an apartment building in the 1300 block of Bonnieview Avenue at around 8 a.m. July 5. 

Pit bull complaint

Police responded to a report of a pit bull in the 1300 block of Fry Avenue at 11 a.m. July 10. The dog turned out to be a mastiff.

Guitars stolen

A woman in the 1500 block of Newman Avenue told police that four guitars were stolen from her bedroom July 10. She said someone likely entered the room from an unlocked window a few days before.

Bicyclists collide

Two bicyclists collided near the intersection of Madison and Alameda avenues at around 8 p.m. July 11. One of them was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Road rage

A man told police that another man followed him in his car to at the corner of Madison Avenue and W. 117th at around 7 a.m. July 12, after an incident of “road rage.” The other man got out of his car and punched the other man’s car.

Stolen car recovered

A man whose car was stolen found it with the windows smashed out, parked in the 1300 block of Beach Avenue at around 8 p.m. July 12. Police arrested a juvenile male and another man and charged them each with receiving stolen property.
