Lakewood Police Blotter: Women Injured After Crash on Lake Avenue

Women taken to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

Motor vehicle accident

Police responded to a single-car crash in the 12000 block of Lake Avenue at around 9 a.m. Jan. 7. Two woman, both of Lakewood,  were taken to area hospitals with unknown injuries after the car they were traveling in crashed into a pole. Police Chief Timothy Malley said he believes the injuries sustained in the crash were non-life-threatening.

Menacing

A 20-year-old man was charged with menacing Jan. 12 after police received a call in the afternoon at the Colonial Club Apartments at 1446 Coutant Ave. Cordell Powell, of 11849 Clifton Ave. was believed to be attacking a female resident of the building.

Felonious assault

A 34-year-old man was charged with felonious assault, domestic violence and disorderly conduct Jan. 12 after a report that he was trying to stab his wife at their home in the 2000 block of Lark Avenue.

Disturbance

Angry that her boyfriend took her car without permission, a woman in the 2170 Lewis Dr. put her hand through a window at around 2 p.m. Jan. 9. An EMS crew responded to treat her hand injury. Neither the woman, nor her boyfriend, were charged.

Grand theft

A car was reported stolen in 1600 block of Waterbury Road on Jan. 9. 

Inducing panic

An 18-year-man Cleveland man was charged with inducing panic around noon Jan. 10. Police received a call about a man walking around the Hidden Village Apartments at 11849 Clifton Ave. with a revolver with a “wooden-looking” handle. Police arrested Dwayne Armstrong, 18, just a couple blocks away and charged him with inducing panic.
