Lakewood Man Shoots Himself in the Leg

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lakewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Man shot... by himself

A man was taken to the after he shot himself in the leg at around 11 a.m. Aug. 5. The man, who has a permit to carry a concealed weapon, told police that he was cleaning his weapon when it discharged, shooting his leg. The man said he didn’t know how it happened, given that the chamber was empty.

Man arrested for trying to ‘grab’ 12-year-old girl

A man was arrested and charged with child enticement after he tried to "grab" a 12-year-old girl as she walked along Franklin Boulevard at around 7:30 p.m. Aug. 3. The girl got away, but she told her grandmother about the incident, who called police. Officers caught up with the man minutes later. 

Drunken man robbed

An intoxicated man called 911 and told police that he had been robbed at a park around 4 am. Aug. 3, however he didn’t know which park — or in which city — he was in. The call was traced to a park in Cleveland.

Bullet casing found

A spent bullet casing was found on the sidewalk near on Dowd Avenue at around 9 a.m. Aug. 3.

Car crash

An early morning car crash disturbed some neighbors in the 12900 block of Clifton Boulevard at around 2:50 a.m. Aug. 4. Two cars collided, causing damage to each, however no injuries were reported.
