Lakewood Man Charged With Drug Trafficking

30-year-old man arrested on Madison Avenue on Tuesday; appeared in court Thursday.

A 30-year-old Lakewood man was charged with trafficking drugs Thursday, after he was arrested with an undisclosed amount of marijuana on Tuesday.

David M. Williams, of 2213 Bunts Road, was arraigned Thursday on fifth-degree felony charges of trafficking in drugs, after he was arrested following a traffic stop on Madison Avenue near Baxterly Avenue on Tuesday afternoon.

“It’s an ongoing investigation so I can’t go into the particulars, but he was charged with trafficking in drugs,” said Lakewood police Lt. Kevin Kaucheck. He added that possession of less than 200 grams of marijuana is a misdemeanor, unless the suspect is found to be trafficking the drugs.
