Lakewood Man Charged with Aggreavated Vehicular Homicide in 'Dancin' in the Street' Crash

Man arrested in incident that killed one, injured four.

Cleveland Police have charged a 34-year-old Lakewood man in relation to a crash at the Dancin' in the Street event Sunday night that took the life of another Lakewood resident.

Timothy Spock, 34, of Beach Parkway, was taken into custody July 29 following the accident that killed one and injured four others. Spock was charged on Monday afternoon with aggravated vehicular homicide and is scheduled to appear in court on at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Andelmo, a 2003 Avon Lake High School graduate living in Lakewood, was one of five people struck by  vehicle reportedly driven by Spock Sunday night.

According to the police report, the street on Clifton Boulevard was barricaded at West 117th Street and east of that location because of a festival. A vehicle was traveling eastbound on Clifton Boulevard and struck the barricade, drove over it and into a crowd which was in a tented area.

The festival, "Dancin' in the Street," is one of Cleveland's largest LGBT fundraisers run by the AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland.

The vehicle struck five people who were taken to MetroHealth Medical center for treatment, two of them were listed in critical condition. One of them was Andelmo.

The investigation is continuing.
